TN Turn Around Time

In response to the impacts of Hurricane Helene in East Tennessee, TDOT bridge engineers are prioritizing the inspection and evaluation of storm-damaged bridges. As a result, permit approvals that require bridge analysis may experience extended processing times over the next 1-3 months. -- TDOT bridge engineers are also prioritizing the review of applications related to Hurricane Helene. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time.

As of now : Permits in the Submitted queue TOTAL OF 569 -- : 402are Single Trip permits – we are currently working a start date of : 11 / 12 /2024 with 95 in queue for that date. ---- 141 are Superload permits – we are currently working a start date of : 11 / 15 /2024 with 30 in queue for that date.

Currently we are working with a very limited staff and are processing permits by their start date not by the submission date. Please be advised that we no longer provide status updates regarding permits via email or phone.

Excluding weekends and Holidays and depending on the type of permit, review and approval of submitted permits will take a minimum 48 hours from time of submission and will Superloads take a minimum of 5 - 10 business days.
